How can massage help you?
Each person experiences massage a little differently. For some it's the only relaxation time they fit into their schedules. For others it's what relieves pain without having to take excessive medication.

A massage can feel different one day to the next depending on stress levels, health and overall well being.  For this reason we encourage you to try various styles and therapists to make sure your needs are best taken care of.

If you've benefited from a massage we have given you and would like to share your experience with others feel free to contact us with your testimonial. All feedback is appreciated!

 THERAPISTS:

Naomi Gonzalez is a AMTA licensed and certified massage practitioner specializing in sports and injury therapy in Seattle, WA.

A veteran sports massage therapist with 12 years of experience with Olympic level athletes, Naomi Gonzalez has such a refined technique that clients invariably taut her as giving them 'by far the best massage I've ever had'.

As one satisfied client put it "I don't know what that was, but it wasn't massage.  She got right to the heart of the problem and I felt immediate relief!"

Focusing on full body mechanics and honing in on injured areas, Naomi incorporates herself into the healing
process by working holistically with clients to improve range of motion, strengthen and affect real physical change.  Her knowledge of the body and ability to devise a results oriented plan makes her an invaluable team member who regularly works in conjunction with physical therapists and doctors in devising personalized treatment plans.
Naomi doesn't limit her practice to just athletes however.  She works with amateur athletes, those living with chronic pain as well as clients with other physical injuries.  Anyone looking for a relaxing massage should look elsewhere as Naomi's touch is not for the faint of heart.  But, if you are looking for intensive, personalized attention to the problem at hand, Naomi is an excellent fit.  Her cheerful personality and no nonsense manner make the experience all the more worthwhile.

EDUCATION & CLINICAL EXPERIENCE:

Naomi trained at the Muscular Therapy Institute (now Cortiva Institute) in Cambridge, MA graduating in 1999 from its two year, 900 hour program. While there she interned in the Athletic Training departments of Harvard University and Simmons College.

After graduating, Naomi worked privately and also volunteered at various running organizations such as the Dana Farber Running Club and Boston Marathon to increase her knowledge of sports massage.

In March 2000, Naomi began working with the Women's United Soccer Association's Boston Breakers, a professional soccer team in a league started by the 1999 Women's World Cup Champions and 1996 Olympic Gold medalists.

While there she functioned as the the team's home and traveling therapist for the 3 years the league was standing. Working closely with the Athletic Trainer, she witnessed and addressed various injuries associated with running and the game of soccer itself. Naomi actively worked on hamstring and quad pulls, hip flexor strains, sciatica, shin splints, plantar fascitis, rotator cuff injuries and overall soreness stemming from over training and repetitive stress injuries.

This experience proved to be invaluable as in December 2003, Naomi was recruited to work with the US Women's Nat'l Soccer team as they trained for the Olympics in Athens. Naomi considers it one of the greatest privileges of her career to have been able to help a team that made history for women's sports and soccer win Gold before its legends, Mia Hamm, Julie Foudy and Joy Fawcett retired from the sport.

Post Olympics, Naomi maintained a private client practice while pursuing her love of travel and exploring new places, living and working in northern and southern California over a period of 5 years.  In 2009, Naomi moved to the greater DC area and founded a successful massage studio, Inspire Your Body Massage in Chevy Chase, MD.

Naomi recently sold her business to the Yoga Fusion Studio in order to relocate to Seattle, WA to pursue the next phase of her career, continuing education for sports massage therapists.
