Spa Day at Pureskin!
Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 06:07PM I've been working pretty hard lately so I thought I'd pamper myself and try out the Oleaslim Aromatherapy treatment Amy Boyce offers just down the hall from my office at PureSkin.
Wow!
I think that pretty much sums my experience up, however I recognize that won't assuage the curiosity seeker in you so here's what led to the 'Wow!'...
Receiving an OleaSlim Aromatherapy and Facial Rejuvenation treatment at PureSkin in BethesdaThe treatment started with Amy exfoliating my skin with a brush which was quite a treat for the senses. She followed it up with a gentle, soothing massage of essential oils which included lavendar, mint, thyme, juniper and pine. As the scents infused the room and my skin I could immediately feel my sinuses open up. I think this was the first time during the treatment I thought I might be in heaven.
For good measure I had her simultaneously add the Facial Rejuvenation treatment which infuses light therapy into the skin to prevent some of the damaging effects of age and sun. The light therapy purifies the skin, increases oxygen flow and tones the skin cells evening out any facial discoloration.
As I started to fade into a relaxing state Amy finished the oil application and wrapped me up into a cocoon infused with heat. Before completely falling asleep I recall her explaining I'd be in the wrap for 40 minutes which would aid the process of elminating cellulite, slim and detoxify my body, promote fat cell breakdown and increase oxygen to my tissues. Sounded great to me!
Sometime later, warm and relaxed I awoke to Amy quietly explaining the wrap treatment had had sufficient time to work and she was going to remove the wrap.
Sigh... alas, all good things must come to an end.
I arose to go out into the cold, rainy DC day counting down the days until I would treat myself to this again.
Several hours later my skin feels soft yet firm and the calming scents of the oils still keep me company. Absolutely delicious.
